I've been recording my songs with a cultural organisation called Faustuss International, which operates out of the UK and has strong links with Kenya in East Africa. In May 2006 I joined the Faustuss crew to help stage a music tour of 38 Kenyan performers across Kenya and Uganda. A documentary of the adventure has been made and I wrote a daily journal and interviewed some of the musicians we travelled with. There's more information about this here. |

One thing I like about some of Faustuss' Kenyan artists is the way they make their music loop over and over. You can hear a bit of that in my tunes. I usually start with a loop, then the band builds a groove around it with drums and percussion. |

You can hear music samples here , buy a CD through the Faustuss website , and soon you will be able to download tracks through iTunes . I've also got a myspace page that gets updated loads. |

That's it, for now. As you read this I'll probably be making new music in my studio, which is halfway up a church spire (because it's cheap rent and I can play really loud…except on Sunday mornings…and when there's a wedding going on). I'll either be in a shifty mood cos I'm avoiding the vicar cos I haven't paid him his weekly rent, or I'll have just paid him something and everything will be sweet. He's always happy when he gets money or finds a bargain; I call him Del Rev cos he's like Del Boy. If I can't afford rent he tries to get me to do stuff at his arts centre, like be in a play or pose nude for the life art classes or help shift staging. I've found it's a lot less complicated when I just pay him. You can buy a CD through the Faustuss website , and soon you will be able to download tracks through iTunes. |
