Ricky Russell (vocals, guitars and programming) |

Enough about me on this site already. Oh, but if you're wondering what's meant by ‘programming' (see above), this means that as well as singing and playing guitar, I operate a couple of nifty machines to make samples and sound effects. These are a pretty big part of the overall sound, but I won't bore you with the nerdy details. |

Ian Grant-Rowan (drums) |
Ian is a session player and hails from Melbourne, Australia. He was taught by, among others, one of Ray Charles' touring drummers – so he's been in good hands. Ian has a tight, minimalist drums set-up and a tight, groove-based style of playing – in other words, he sticks on a beat and plays around with it, making slight variations. Ian's idol is drum supremo Steve Gadd, who's toured with the likes of Paul Simon, and Ian lives by the motto “Gadd is God”. Ian can play in many styles but the approach that comes most naturally to him is perfect for the sound we've got going on. |

Sam Herzallah (percussion) |

Sam is from Beirut in Lebanon and is always making us jealous with his stories about late night parties on the beach where he comes from. (Lebanon sounds like an amazing place when it's not being blown apart.) Sam's been jamming on skin drums most of his life and has built up a tidy selection of instruments: his arsenal now includes djembe and tabla drums and a set of timbales. |

And together… |
I start the tunes off. Ian comes in with the main beat. Sam joins in. People start dancing. |
